Imagine being stuck in a Dubai prison cell with no idea what's happening in the outside world — then getting a two-minute call from your wife telling you you're the most hated man in Britain. That's exactly what happened to Lee Andrews.
The Phone Call Nobody Expected
Katie Price, 47, finally made contact with her missing husband Lee, 43, after his father helped broker a call from Al Awir prison in Dubai. It lasted just two minutes. Katie did not hold back.
Lee had apparently been completely in the dark about the media storm swirling around him back home — unaware his disappearance had gone viral or that millions of people were convinced the whole thing was staged.
"I said 'trust me, you are the most hated man in Britain — everyone thinks this is a scam, everyone thinks I'm in on it.' He said 'what has gone on, I haven't seen anything.'"
The Instagram Follow That Stunned Everyone
If that wasn't enough to process, there's the small matter of a mysterious Instagram follow. While Lee was supposedly detained and cut off from the world, his account appeared to follow a glamorous US Navy veteran called Marisol — a woman his account had never previously interacted with.
Fans were baffled. Before the drama, Lee's account had followed only one person: Katie. Marisol has since blocked his account, and Katie addressed it directly on her podcast, suggesting Marisol may have followed Lee first, triggering an automatic notification.
'It Can't Be Nice — But I Was Telling Him The Truth'
Katie acknowledged her blunt prison greeting wasn't exactly comforting. "It can't be nice for him," she admitted — before standing firmly by every word she said.
Her sister Sophie, who co-hosts the podcast, did offer Lee a backhanded compliment of sorts — saying "fair play" to Katie's honesty — before promptly banning Lee from appearing on the show to give his side of the story.
Lee, who has lived full-time in Dubai, is believed to have been arrested on 14 May. Katie says he told her he was detained on suspicion of spying — something she described as authorities thinking he was "like James Bond." Quite the plot twist.
