It was the fashion plot twist nobody saw coming. Kylie Jenner — businesswoman, beauty mogul, reality star — walked the 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show runway on Sunday, 18 October, wearing a $50 million (£37.5 million) Fantasy Bra. Meanwhile, her sister Kendall Jenner, the actual professional model of the two, watched from afar. Cue the internet going absolutely haywire.
A Record-Breaking Debut
Kylie, 29, made her surprise runway debut in Los Angeles draped in white feathered wings and the most expensive Fantasy Bra in Victoria's Secret history. Created with luxury jeweller Jacob & Co., the piece contains 4,410 natural diamonds totalling 1,373.39 carats, with a 75.54-carat radiant-cut Fancy Vivid yellow diamond at its centre — reportedly worth around $22 million (£16.5 million) on its own. Fifteen artisans spent more than 1,000 hours constructing it, and the finished bra weighs nearly four pounds. For context, the previous record-holder was Gisele Bündchen's $15 million Red Hot Fantasy Bra from 2000. Kylie cleared it by $35 million on her very first night on the catwalk.
It also marked the Fantasy Bra's first runway outing since 2018, when Victoria's Secret Angel Elsa Hosk wore a $1 million Atelier Swarovski version. Kylie is notably the first non-Angel ever to model the iconic piece, joining the ranks of Gisele Bündchen, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and Candice Swanepoel in the Fantasy Bra hall of fame.
"Kylie really extends beyond fashion, beyond culture, beyond TV, beyond one singular thing," Victoria's Secret chief creative officer Adam Selman told Vogue. "That's the exact same thing that we do."
Kendall's Reaction? Genuinely Sweet
For all the fan speculation about simmering sibling rivalry, Kendall Jenner's actual response was rather lovely. The 30-year-old, who has walked the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show three times — in 2015, 2016 and 2018 — shared a video of Kylie's runway moment to her Instagram Stories on 19 October, writing simply: "My perfect baby sister." She also reportedly gave Kylie runway advice before the show and thought her younger sister did a great job.

Kylie, for her part, was still processing the whole thing. "Pinch me," she wrote on Instagram. "STILL DREAMING. A moment I'll never forget."
"She's really created her own culture, which — how many people can say that?" Selman added, explaining that the big idea for the show was "fandomonium."
The Fans, Though, Were a Different Story
While the Jenner sisters appear to be perfectly fine, the internet had already filed for full sibling rivalry coverage. On Reddit, the discourse was immediate. "This feels like a slap to the face," wrote one user, questioning why Kylie landed the coveted runway moment when Kendall has actually built a career on modelling. Others, however, saw the logic in the casting perfectly clearly. "No one would've cared if it were Kendall, it would've just been Kendall doing her job," one commenter argued. "You're missing the point of the Fantasy Bra. They were going for a pop culture moment, and Kendall wouldn't have had the same impact because modelling is literally what she does."

On social media more broadly, jokes proliferated with impressive speed. "Probably because Kylie could afford it if a diamond fell off," offered one Facebook user, while another delivered the most cutting assessment of the evening: "Kendall actually worked for it."
So Why Wasn't Kendall There?
Kendall's absence from the show itself — she wasn't in the crowd, unlike Kris Jenner and Kylie's boyfriend Timothée Chalamet — prompted considerable speculation. But there's a fairly straightforward professional explanation. Kendall is currently working with Italian lingerie brand Intimissimi, which announced her as its global ambassador earlier this year, making an appearance at a rival lingerie event a rather awkward proposition. The night before the show, she was photographed with Jacob Elordi at the 6th Annual Academy Museum Gala — hardly the behaviour of someone sulking at home.

Kim Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian both celebrated Kylie's milestone on their Instagram Stories. Kendall did not post — until the following day, when that "perfect baby sister" tribute made clear exactly where she stands. Kendall may have the longer Victoria's Secret résumé. But Kylie now has the Fantasy Bra, the record, and arguably the bigger pop culture moment. Fortunately for everyone involved, $50 million in diamonds appears to be causing far more drama among fans than between the sisters themselves.
