Con artists, crime bosses and the FBI — Lucky has it all
Anya Taylor-Joy is back on our screens and she means business. Apple TV+ has dropped the first trailer for Lucky, a glossy new seven-episode limited series starring and executive produced by the Queen's Gambit actress — and if the teaser is anything to go by, this is shaping up to be one of the must-watch shows of the summer. The premise is deliciously high-stakes: a multimillion-dollar heist goes spectacularly wrong, and Taylor-Joy's con artist Lucky finds herself hunted by both the FBI and a ruthless crime boss with nowhere left to hide.
A stellar cast to match the ambition
Apple TV+ isn't cutting corners when it comes to the supporting lineup. Joining Taylor-Joy is a seriously impressive ensemble that includes Oscar winner Annette Bening, the always-watchable Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Drew Starkey, Clifton Collins Jr., and William Fichtner. With talent like that assembled around her, it's clear the streamer is positioning Lucky as a prestige event series rather than just another disposable thriller.
Reese Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine behind the scenes
The show is based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Marissa Stapley — a Reese's Book Club pick, no less — which adds another layer of pedigree to the project. Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter executive produce through Hello Sunshine, while Taylor-Joy produces through her own LadyKiller banner. Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas serve as co-showrunners, with Jonathan van Tulleken directing the pilot and also executive producing.

When can you watch it?
UK viewers won't have long to wait. Lucky premieres globally on Apple TV+ on Wednesday 15th July, with the first two episodes dropping together. New episodes will then follow every Wednesday through to 19th August — perfect binge-watch fodder for the summer months. Apple TV+ is available across multiple platforms and devices, making it one of this season's most accessible big-ticket premieres.
