Paul Rudd's Cheeky Charity Gamble

Paul Rudd has never been one to do things by the book — and his latest move proves it. The Ant-Man star has confessed to auctioning off tickets to the world premiere of Avengers: Doomsday as part of a charity fundraiser, all without bothering to run it past Marvel Studios first. The admission came during a typically warm and witty appearance on The Tonight Show, where host Jimmy Fallon could barely hide his disbelief.

'I'm Hoping It's Okay'

Rudd revealed the tickets — part of his long-running Big Slick Celebrity Weekend event in Kansas City — fetched a staggering $100,000 (around £79,000) at auction. The catch? He never sought Marvel's approval before putting them up for sale. When Fallon pressed him on what happens if Marvel refuses to honour the arrangement, Rudd had a typically breezy answer.

'I didn't even ask Marvel, I just auctioned them off. So I'm hoping it's okay. Well then my family's not going because I only get a very small allotment.'

A Charity Close to His Heart

The Big Slick was co-founded by Rudd alongside comedians Rob Riggle and Jason Sudeikis seventeen years ago, with all proceeds going to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. What began as a modest poker tournament with a target of $50,000 has since grown into a major annual event — incorporating a celebrity show, a baseball game, and more. Rudd revealed that, with the support of fellow Kansas City stars including Eric Stonestreet, Dave Koechner, and Heidi Gardner, the event has now raised nearly $40 million in total.

The film follows on from Fantastic Four: The First Steps and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and is set to hit cinemas on 18th December.
