Prince Harry is said to be reeling after being left off the guest list for his first cousin Peter Phillips' upcoming wedding — and, according to those close to the Duke of Sussex, there is only one person he holds responsible: his brother, Prince William.
Peter Phillips, 48, the son of Princess Anne and the eldest grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II, is set to marry nurse Harriet Sperling this weekend in an intimate ceremony in the Cotswolds. The guest list reads like a who's who of the Royal Family — King Charles and Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, the Tindalls and the Edinburghs are all expected to attend. Yet one name is conspicuously absent: Harry.
'Harry says he's 100% sure William is the reason that he's been getting the cold shoulder from Peter. He says it's obvious William has pressured Peter to take sides. And he says this wedding situation just proves it — because why else would he not be invited?'
A Snub That Has Stung
A friend of Peter confirmed last week that the 41-year-old Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle had not received an invitation, explaining simply that 'Peter and Harry haven't spoken for several years and have simply lost touch, so he hasn't been invited.' But that explanation has done little to soften the blow for Harry.

An insider close to the Duke says the exclusion has genuinely hurt him. 'Harry expected to at least get an invite,' the source reveals. 'This is his first cousin and someone he grew up with and has always been very close to. It is true that in the last few years they have drifted, but Peter was at his wedding, and he was at Peter's first wedding.'
The two cousins share a history that goes back decades. Peter recalled fondly in a 2016 Good Morning Britain interview how the extended royal family — including William and Harry, the Windsor and Gloucester cousins — spent summers together at Sandringham. 'We had a lot of fun and there was a lot of space for kids to run around in,' he said at the time.
William in the Frame
Harry is reportedly unwilling to place the blame on Peter himself. Instead, sources say he believes his older brother has been quietly working to turn family members against him — and that Peter is simply the latest to fall into line.
'Harry suspects that William has been on a mission to turn every single family member against him and slowly, but surely, it seems to be working,' the insider says. 'He sees it as very petty.'
The source adds that Harry does not entirely blame Peter, acknowledging 'how persuasive William can be and how he likes to throw his weight around.' In recent years, Peter has publicly aligned himself more closely with the Prince of Wales, describing William and Kate as a 'fantastic team' in a 2024 Sky News Australia interview and calling the Princess of Wales 'remarkable.'

An Ever-Shrinking Circle
The wedding snub is the latest chapter in what has become an increasingly isolating experience for Harry within his own family. Since relocating to Montecito, California, the Duke is believed not to have spoken to most of his relatives for nearly four years — with the last significant gathering being the late Queen's funeral in September 2022.
Even Princess Eugenie, long considered one of Harry's closest allies within the family, is reported to have cooled towards him following an alleged falling-out over a photograph of her dining with Piers Morgan — one of the Sussexes' most vocal critics. Harry's most recent meeting with his father, King Charles, took place last September, their first encounter in 19 months.
For UK royal watchers, the Phillips-Sperling wedding — though billed as a low-key, private affair — has inadvertently shone a spotlight on just how fractured relations within the Royal Family remain. With no reconciliation on the horizon and Harry apparently convinced that William is orchestrating his estrangement from the wider family, the rift shows precious few signs of healing any time soon.
