A source cited by the National Examiner claims the Duchess of Sussex was left feeling micromanaged and unwelcome during what had been billed as a visit aimed at reopening dialogue with the Royal Family, describing the trip as disappointing across the board.

The insider painted a picture of two very different reactions within the Sussex household. Prince Harry is said to have wanted to brush off the difficulties and focus on the positives — pushing for continued family outreach through 'family photos, gift baskets,' and steady communication. Meghan, the source claimed, was simply 'just not feeling motivated' to pursue that path.
Among the frustrations cited: a request for taxpayer-funded police protection was reportedly denied by UK authorities, and an offer of a London room at Buckingham Palace was subsequently withdrawn. Restrictions on photographs and public posts during the visit were described by the insider as 'especially insulting.' The source said the couple felt treated like 'a pair of outsiders' and left feeling 'completely micromanaged.'
For now, Meghan is said to be directing her energy towards her stateside brand — a focus that appears to be bearing fruit, given her recent public appearances around entertainment projects she has been developing.
