She's barely a teenager, yet Princess Charlotte is already making her presence felt in a very big way. Whether she's nudging Prince George into shape at a state occasion or inspiring her father to tackle one of society's most stubborn taboos, the middle Wales child is proving to be a force of nature — composed, confident, and clearly paying attention.

The royal family's unofficial etiquette officer

According to Supernanny star Jo Frost, Charlotte has quietly taken on the role of keeper of the royal rulebook among her siblings. The childhood behaviour expert told Hello! magazine that the 11-year-old princess has a natural authority when it comes to protocol. Spotted tapping Prince Louis on the arm during Trooping the Colour 2024 and gently nudging Prince George during the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Charlotte clearly has her eye on proceedings — and isn't afraid to step in.

"Charlotte knows the rules. She's the one in the middle. She knows how to keep everyone in good stead," Frost told Hello!, adding that George is "probably annoyed with her one minute and then grateful that she's there."

William opens up about talking to Charlotte about periods

Meanwhile, Prince William has been widely praised after revealing he knows he'll one day need to have an important conversation with his daughter about menstrual health. Speaking with period equity activist Vivi Lin at the SXSW London festival in Shoreditch — where The Diana Award is the official charity partner — William acknowledged that menstrual stigma "is still pretty much a thing in our current society" and admitted he might need Princess Kate's help when the time comes.

A father ahead of the curve

William's candour didn't stop there. He went on to discuss how women's sports teams across the UK are already adapting training schedules around female players' biological cycles — something he described as a model for the rest of the world. Vivi Lin, founder of the With Red organisation and The Period Museum, said she hoped the future King's openness would "really encourage a lot of people who are ready or not ready yet to talk to their children about periods."

A modern princess in the making

Between her father's thoughtful parenting and her own quietly commanding presence at royal events, Charlotte is shaping up to be a remarkably assured young royal. Jo Frost noted that the Wales children have been "raised with an understanding of royal procedures and protocols" — but it's Charlotte who appears to have truly taken it to heart. With Kate's poise and William's warmth, she may well be the most naturally royal of the three.
