They may have had a turbulent couple of years, but Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel appear to be putting on a united front — quite literally. The couple were photographed walking hand-in-hand through New York City on Monday, 15 June, in their first joint public appearance since 2024, sending a clear message to anyone who'd written them off.

Both dressed in matching all-black outfits and coordinating sunglasses, the pair strolled through the city at a relaxed daytime pace. Timberlake, 45, wore a boxy short-sleeved shirt, wide-leg black trousers and grey trainers, while Biel, 44, layered a dark grey button-up over a black T-shirt with leggings and white trainers. Low-key, yes — but the symbolism was anything but.
A Marriage Under the Microscope
The outing comes after months of intense speculation about the state of their marriage, which began in October 2012 and has weathered more than its fair share of storms. The most recent: footage from Timberlake's June 2024 drink-driving arrest in the Hamptons, portions of which were released to the public earlier this year in March after Timberlake attempted to legally block the bodycam footage from being made available. In it, the former *NSYNC frontman could be seen joking about being white and stumbling through an explanation of his career to police officers — not exactly his finest hour.
He ultimately pleaded guilty to driving while impaired, was fined $500 with a $260 surcharge, and ordered to complete 25 hours of community service. Sources close to the couple said the footage resurfacing was particularly hard on Biel, who had reportedly been focused on moving forward and prioritising their family life. The pair share two sons, Silas, 11, and Phineas, six.
It is not the first time Biel has been asked to extend her trust. Back in 2019, Timberlake publicly admitted to a lapse of judgement after images emerged of him holding hands with his Palmer co-star Alisha Wainwright during a night out in New Orleans.
'He Does Not Get to Do Whatever He Feels Like'
Earlier this year, an insider told Star magazine that Timberlake was operating under unusually strict terms at home — and knew better than to argue with them.
"He does not question her, he does not push back and he certainly does not get to do whatever he feels like. She has full access to his phone, his social media — any moment she wants, he has to hand it over."
According to the same source, spontaneous boys' nights are firmly off the table and Biel expects to know her husband's whereabouts at all times. "Friends joked that he's on permanent probation, but it's not far off," the insider added. It paints a picture of a marriage that has survived — but not without conditions.
Biel's Loyalty Has Never Wavered Publicly
For all the behind-the-scenes turbulence, Biel has consistently shown up for her husband in public. She attended dates on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour last summer, and at the 2026 Critics' Choice Awards in January she was effusive in her praise on the red carpet.
"There's just no one like him — who can perform like him, who sings like him. He just brings so much joy," she told E! News at the time.
The couple have also kept up a steady stream of personal moments on social media — birthday posts, anniversary tributes, and glimpses of family life — even during the periods when they've avoided being photographed together in public.

Monday's stroll through New York won't silence every whisper about the state of their relationship. But two people walking hand-in-hand through one of the world's most photographed cities, apparently unbothered, is as deliberate a statement as any. Whether it's a genuine turning point or a carefully managed image, the Timberlakes clearly want the world to see them moving — as they have said themselves — forward, together.
