It is, as symbolic gestures go, about as pointed as they come. Brooklyn Beckham has shared a shirtless photo on Instagram revealing that his 'mama's boy' chest tattoo — a tribute to his mother Victoria — has been almost entirely covered by an elaborate floral design. And not just any flowers. The new ink is believed to be a sketch of wife Nicola Peltz's bridal bouquet from their 2022 wedding: the very event at the centre of the Beckham family's very public and very bitter falling-out.
A source close to the family told Metro that the cover-up has not gone unnoticed at home. 'Victoria will be understandably upset to see Brooklyn's tattoo for her all but gone,' they said. 'It's another blow towards the family and a sign that things won't improve between them any time soon.'
From 'mama's boy' to bridal bouquet
Brooklyn, 27, originally had the words 'mama's boy' written in a typewriter-style font over his heart, first pictured in 2017 and inked in 2018 when he was 18. It sat alongside a number of other family tributes — including a large anchor with the word 'Dad' on his upper right arm and a design featuring the date 1975, a nod to his father David's birth year. All of those now appear to have been covered or, in some cases, seemingly lasered away.

The anchor is now partially obscured by a series of shapes and a star. A handwritten inking reading 'love you Bust' — using the childhood nickname David gave him — appears faded and barely legible. The 1975 date is no longer visible at all.
'As much as Brooklyn clearly wants to erase his family from his life, David still has his son's nickname Buster proudly tattooed on his neck.'
Brooklyn is said to have around 100 tattoos in total, with roughly 70 of them dedicated to Nicola and her family. In addition to the bridal bouquet, he has a portrait of Nicola on his upper arm, a recreation of her eyes on the back of his neck, her first name on his neck, and both their surnames across his stomach — a nod to his decision to go double-barrelled after they married.
The feud in full
The tattoo reshuffle is the latest chapter in what has become one of the most talked-about celebrity family rifts in recent memory. Brooklyn issued a lengthy statement earlier this year accusing his parents of prioritising 'Brand Beckham' over genuine family relationships, claiming they had caused him anxiety as a child and attempted to undermine his marriage. He accused Victoria of pulling out of making Nicola's wedding dress at the last minute and of dancing 'inappropriately' at the reception — an allegation Victoria has denied.

Brooklyn also claimed that despite travelling to the UK for David's 50th birthday, repeated requests to meet beforehand were ignored. He has since instructed his family to contact him only through lawyers and asked them to stop posting about him publicly — a request they have not entirely honoured.
'I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life.'
For all the erasing, Brooklyn has held onto at least a couple of family mementos. He still has 'mum' tattooed on his shoulder inside a love heart in a classic sailor style, and retains his 'brotherhood' inking on his right leg — matching tattoos shared with brothers Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, who got them together in 2023. There is also a ballerina tattoo on his calf, a tribute to younger sister Harper, 15.
What happens next?
Whether Brooklyn's family will respond publicly remains to be seen — Cruz has already made an emotional gesture towards his estranged brother in recent weeks, though Brooklyn has shown little sign of softening. For the moment, the most eloquent statement in the room is written not in words but in ink — or rather, in the deliberate absence of it.
