Fresh from a family adventure in Iceland, Ivanka Trump touched back down in California this week — and wasted no time heading out for a summer evening in Malibu.
The former first daughter was photographed on Sunday arriving at Nobu, the celebrity-favourite sushi restaurant, alongside her husband Jared Kushner. The outing marked yet another social engagement in what has shaping up to be a particularly busy summer for the couple.
The Look
For the dinner, Ivanka opted for a casual-cool ensemble that balanced relaxed and polished. She wore a blue shirt knotted into a crop top, paired with white trousers printed with blue flowers. Brown heels and a clutch purse completed the look, with her hair worn loose and straight. The pair were accompanied by friends for the evening out.
An Icelandic Escape
The Malibu outing came hot on the heels of a family trip to Iceland, which Ivanka documented on social media in a series of photographs that gave followers an intimate glimpse of the getaway. The images showed the couple bundled up against the Nordic chill — Ivanka in a green jacket, Kushner in a navy one — smiling and holding each other in front of the country's dramatic scenery. One shot captured Kushner carrying his wife in his arms; another showed the pair sharing a kiss by a waterfall.

Their three children — Arabella, Joseph and Theodore — joined the trip, with a family photo showing all five together outside a rustic home surrounded by greenery. The children were dressed in matching outfits, with Theodore and Joseph sporting green jackets and khaki trousers. The family also visited Iceland's famed Blue Lagoon, one of the country's most celebrated geothermal attractions.
"June through August marks the country's busiest travel period, as longer days and milder conditions make it easier for visitors to spend time outside," Travel + Leisure reported.
Iceland's appeal as a so-called 'coolcation' destination has grown in recent years among travellers looking to escape the heat of a traditional summer holiday. Even at its warmest, Reykjavík tends to hover in the low 50s Fahrenheit, offering relief from the sweltering temperatures found elsewhere — and the extended daylight hours of summer mean there's no shortage of time to explore hiking trails, waterfalls and whale-watching excursions.
A Summer Full of Activity
Iceland was not the only stop on the family's summer itinerary. Earlier in the season, Ivanka and Jared were photographed at Michael Rubin's well-attended White Party in The Hamptons, and the family also travelled to Ireland with the children in tow. The Malibu dinner rounds out what has clearly been a well-travelled few months for the pair.
For those inspired to follow in their footsteps, Iceland remains one of the more accessible Nordic escapes — and according to travel experts, summer is the ideal window, with mountain roads and remote hiking trails opening up that are harder to reach at other times of year. Those looking for similar cool-weather alternatives might also consider Norway or Scotland, both of which offer mild summer temperatures and dramatic natural landscapes of their own.
