Steven Spielberg's youngest daughter, Destry Allyn Spielberg, is officially a married woman. The actress and filmmaker, 29, wed her partner of four years, real estate agent Jake Herskowitz, 26, on Saturday, 26 September, in a glamorous celebration in East Hampton, New York. The nuptials reportedly took place near the iconic director's sprawling $64 million family estate — though it has not been confirmed whether the wedding itself was held on the property.
Destry wasted no time sharing her joy with the world, resharing photos from the reception on her Instagram Stories the following day, captioning one image of herself surrounded by loved ones with a simple but effusive: 'My people. What a night.'
Two Stunning Looks for One Unforgettable Day
The bride pulled double duty on the style front, stepping out in two entirely different — and equally breathtaking — ensembles across the day. For the ceremony, Destry wore a white corseted gown featuring a French lace necklace and a billowing tulip skirt, created by New York-based designer Seline Meisler and styled by Nicole Chavez. She completed the look with yellow heels and wore her blonde hair swept back into a sleek updo.
For the reception, she changed into a light yellow cowl-neck gown — a softer, more relaxed silhouette that still turned heads. The colour-coordinated heel choice for the ceremony suggested the sunshine yellow was very much a deliberate bridal theme.
'@destryallen and @mister_hersh are married. Many blessings,' wrote Destry's older brother, Sawyer Spielberg, alongside a photo of the couple sharing a romantic kiss on a pier overlooking the sunset.
Four Years in the Making
Destry and Herskowitz were first linked in 2022, and the couple marked their fourth anniversary just weeks before the wedding, with Destry posting a sweet tribute on Instagram. 'Happy 4-year anniversary to my best friend and partner for life,' she wrote alongside photographs of the pair together on a boat. Their engagement was announced in February, when Destry shared a clip on Instagram Stories showing off her ring, captioning it simply: '@mister_hersh Forever.'
The wedding is a joyful chapter following Destry's previous engagement to Swiss actor Genc Legrand, which ended before she and Herskowitz became an item.
A Spielberg Making Her Own Name
Destry is the youngest of Steven Spielberg's seven children — the director is also father to Max, Jessica, Theo, Sasha, Sawyer and Mikaela. Her mother is actress Kate Capshaw, Steven's wife of more than three decades.
Despite growing up in one of Hollywood's most storied households, Destry has carved out a creative identity very much her own. She made her feature directing debut in 2024's Please Don't Feed the Children and followed it with Girl, which boasts a cast including Jason Isaacs, Sofia Wylie, Maddie Ziegler and Luke Newton.
She has not shied away from the nepotism debate that has dogged many second-generation Hollywood figures, addressing the criticism head-on on social media.
'I am just a young aspiring female filmmaker who admires the art of cinema. People can argue nepotism, but I know deep down that I worked hard to get where I am and it wasn't easy,' she wrote.
Destry has spoken openly about initially resisting the pull towards filmmaking precisely because of her father's legendary status, telling Interview magazine that she made her first short film around the age of 21 and found it an immediate revelation. 'This is what I want to do,' she recalled thinking — and judging by the trajectory of her career, and now her personal life, it seems everything is falling rather beautifully into place.
