The date was June 13, 2026 — the very night millions of Swifties had circled in their calendars as a potential wedding date. Instead of exchanging vows, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were spotted laughing their heads off at a Broadway comedy, holding hands in the West Village, and posing backstage with Maya Rudolph. Not quite a wedding, but honestly? It looked like a pretty wonderful evening.

Oh, Mary! Oh, What a Night

The couple headed to the Lyceum Theatre to catch a performance of Oh, Mary!, the hit Broadway comedy now starring Maya Rudolph in the lead role. They arrived coordinated to perfection — Swift in a burgundy velvet Ralph Lauren dress with gold jewellery, and Kelce rocking a red floral Valentino shirt with black trousers and a striped cap. Classic them, really.

Audience members reported the pair were fully immersed in the show, laughing together throughout the evening. Swift, never one to hold back her enthusiasm, reportedly led a standing ovation during the curtain call with characteristic gusto. After the final bow, the couple headed backstage to meet Rudolph and director Sam Pinkleton, posing for photos with the cast in what looked like an genuinely joyful end to the evening.

"Taylor and Travis couldn't be more excited to begin this next chapter and look forward to the day they can call each other husband and wife," an insider told Entertainment Tonight earlier this year.

That day, it seems, just wasn't June 13 — whatever the internet had decided.

How the Wedding Rumours Began — and Unravelled

For months, fan theories had been swirling that Swift and Kelce would tie the knot on June 13 — a date with numerological significance to Swifties — at the Ocean House in Rhode Island. The speculation was so intense that a wedding planner eventually stepped in to set the record straight, confirming she was organising a completely unrelated wedding at the venue that day.

ESPN's Nate Taylor reported back in March that the couple planned to wed before the Kansas City Chiefs' training camp begins in late July. A July 3 date has also been floated by various outlets, though neither Swift nor Kelce has confirmed anything publicly. What Swift has confirmed is that she's completely smitten. During an appearance on The Tonight Show last October, she told Jimmy Fallon:

"He's just my favorite person I've ever met — no offense to everyone else. But the fact that this is the person that I get to hang out with every day forever is just like, that's the whole thing. You look at that [engagement ring], and you're like, 'I'm going to hang out with him forever, and this represents that.'"

A Packed Few Weeks for the Power Couple

The Broadway outing capped off a whirlwind stretch for both stars. Swift has barely stopped for breath — she attended the Toy Story 5 premiere in Los Angeles, watched Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden alongside the Haim sisters, and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, all within the space of a few days. Kelce, meanwhile, wrapped up the Chiefs' mandatory minicamp in Kansas City before flying straight to New York to cheer Swift on at her Hall of Fame ceremony. Supportive boyfriend behaviour, full marks.

Kelce's schedule is about to take him in several directions at once. He's set to make a special appearance at a Cleveland Guardians home game, then heads to Los Angeles to record a live episode of his podcast New Heights with brother Jason Kelce at the Orpheum Theatre — timed to coincide with the start of the World Cup. From June 22 to 25, he'll co-host Tight End University in Nashville. Swift joined him at the event last year, and co-host George Kittle has already hinted she might make a return appearance this time around — something celebrity watchers will no doubt be keeping a very close eye on.

With training camp looming in late July and a rumoured wedding somewhere in the mix, Swift and Kelce are making the most of every moment in between. One Broadway show at a time.
