Favier died on 17th August at the age of 57 in a car accident in the French region of Deux-Sèvres. She was travelling with her partner, acclaimed film producer Nicolas Altmayer, 61, who also lost his life in the crash. The two women had known each other since childhood, spending summers together at Cap Nègre on the French Riviera — a friendship so enduring that Favier served as a witness at Bruni and Sarkozy's wedding in 2008.
