She may have had her Apple TV+ series cancelled, but Kristen Wiig is not lying low. The actress made a striking appearance at the Chanel Womenswear Spring/Summer 2027 show during Paris Fashion Week on Monday, 5th October — and it was not just the outfit that had people talking.

The New Look

Wiig, 53, debuted noticeably darker, brunette hair — a significant departure from the blonde she has long been associated with. Styled in loose waves with a centre parting, the new colour made headlines almost immediately, with fans and fashion observers doing a double take across social media.

Her ensemble was equally memorable. The Bridesmaids star wore a fitted strapless black Chanel minidress featuring the house's interlocking double-C emblem at the centre, a textured border framing the neckline, and a crisp white band along the hem. She carried a matching black jacket trimmed with white edging, keeping her shoulders bare as she posed for photographers outside the venue. Red court shoes with glossy black toe caps brought a sharp pop of colour, while a sparkling bracelet with colourful details completed the look.

Her makeup leaned into understated elegance — dark eyeliner, a glossy pink lip, and softly flushed cheeks — letting the ensemble and that striking hair transformation do most of the talking.

Life After Palm Royale

The Paris outing comes after a difficult few months professionally. Wiig's period drama Palm Royale, in which she starred as the socially ambitious Maxine Dellacorte-Simmons and served as executive producer, was cancelled by Apple TV+ after two seasons earlier this year. The show had earned considerable critical recognition — its first season alone received 11 Emmy nominations — and its ensemble cast included Carol Burnett, Allison Janney, Laura Dern, Leslie Bibb, and Ricky Martin. Wiig herself received a nomination at the 2026 Actor Awards for her lead performance.

Stepping out at one of fashion's most prestigious events so soon after the cancellation sends its own message: Wiig is very much moving forward.

A Big Year on Multiple Fronts

Paris was not Wiig's only high-profile appearance of late. Earlier this year she made a splash at the 98th Academy Awards on 15th March, arriving in a beaded, crystal-detailed haute couture Elie Saab gown with an A-line skirt, accessorised with a statement ring and necklace.

"Kristen's Oscars makeup was inspired by the Elie Saab cocoa tone gown. I wanted to create a soft monochromatic chocolate tonal mood with the focus on skin being radiant, fresh and healthy."

That was the assessment of celebrity makeup artist Jo Baker, who worked on Wiig's Oscars look using Well People products. The evening also brought a sentimental moment: Wiig reunited onstage with her Bridesmaids co-stars Melissa McCarthy, Rose Byrne, Ellie Kemper, and Maya Rudolph to mark the comedy's 15th anniversary before presenting the award for Best Score.

"I cannot believe that it's been 15 years. Now we are not good with numbers, but we figured out backstage that means we shot this movie in 1883."

It was a warm, crowd-pleasing moment for one of comedy's most beloved ensembles — and a reminder of just how enduring Wiig's cultural footprint remains.

Keeping It Together

Wiig has spoken candidly in the past about staying grounded amid a demanding schedule. In a 2011 interview with Allure, she described a fitness routine built around walking, treadmill sessions, cycling, and a weekly private yoga class. "I live between Central Park and the Hudson River, and those are two great places to walk and run," she said. "When I'm working, I try to get something in a couple times a week."

Whatever her routine, the Paris Fashion Week appearance suggests Wiig is in fine form — and with Palm Royale now behind her, there will be no shortage of speculation about what comes next for one of Hollywood's most versatile talents.
