The cobblestones of Paris have become the unlikely setting for one of Hollywood's most hotly anticipated heist films, as Bradley Cooper and Monica Barbaro were spotted on location filming the Ocean's Eleven prequel — and the first set photos are every bit as glamorous as you'd hope.
Splash News shared images on 18 August showing both actors deep in production in the French capital. Cooper was pictured wearing a headset behind the camera, whilst Barbaro turned heads in a striking blue-and-white costume befitting the film's swinging Sixties aesthetic.
Danny Ocean's Parents Take Centre Stage
The untitled prequel is set in the 1960s and follows Danny Ocean's parents as they attempt to pull off an audacious heist at the 1963 Monaco Grand Prix. Margot Robbie, who has been attached to the project since 2022, co-leads alongside Cooper and offered audiences at CinemaCon in April a tantalising glimpse of what to expect.
Robbie told CinemaCon audiences the film would show Danny Ocean's parents 'in their prime.'
It's a premise that practically writes itself — old-school glamour, motor racing royalty and a heist that presumably puts even the Bellagio job in the shade. Cooper, who writes, directs and stars in the film, has taken on a considerable creative load, but it's hardly new territory for him.
This marks his fourth feature as director, following A Star Is Born, Maestro and Is This Thing On? — all of which he also wrote and starred in.
A Star-Studded Ensemble
Cooper and Robbie are far from alone. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed in July that the ensemble cast includes Vicky Krieps, George MacKay, Jack Holden, Lauren Ridloff, Omar Sy, Wagner Moura and Josh Gad. Moura is set to play the film's villain — a role that, in a heist thriller dripping with Sixties cool, promises to be an awful lot of fun.
Cooper stepped into the director's chair after Lee Isaac Chung departed the project earlier this year, adding yet another layer of intrigue to a production that has been generating buzz since it was first announced.
Clooney's Ocean's Fourteen Waits in the Wings
Meanwhile, the man who defined Danny Ocean for a generation is plotting his own return.
George Clooney revealed in October 2025 that much of the original cast is aiming to reunite for Ocean's Fourteen by the end of 2026 — meaning fans of the franchise are set for quite the double bill.
'There was something about the idea that we're too old to do what we used to do, but we're still smart enough to know how to get away with something, that just appeals to me,' Clooney told Variety.
Production on the prequel began roughly ten months after Clooney made those remarks, with the two projects existing in a delightfully parallel universe of heist cinema.

The untitled Ocean's Eleven prequel is set for release in cinemas on 25 June 2027.
