The DCU Is Just Getting Started

Superhero fatigue? Not on James Gunn's watch. While Marvel has been battling its own blockbuster burnout, DC Studios is quietly — well, not so quietly — building something that fans have been desperate to see done properly for years. With Superman already under its belt, Supergirl landing in cinemas on 26th June 2026, and Man of Tomorrow set for 2027, the new DC Universe is firing on all cylinders. Three major projects in a single year would make even Kevin Feige raise an eyebrow.

We've Got Our First Look at Man of Tomorrow — and It's Giving Green Goblin Vibes (But Better)

Fans of the DCU, rejoice. Director James Gunn has finally pulled back the curtain on Man of Tomorrow — and the first image is an absolute treat. Rather than a sweeping hero shot of David Corenswet's Superman, Gunn has teased Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor in his legendary green warsuit, first introduced in Action Comics #544 back in 1983. In a delicious twist, the upcoming sequel will see Superman and his arch nemesis forced to team up against a new threat: Brainiac, played by Lars Eidinger. Gunn confirmed via Threads that the suit is "100% practical" and "unbelievably mobile" — so expect Hoult to be properly throwing hands in that thing.

"The warsuit is 100% practical and unbelievably mobile" — James Gunn, confirming what DC fans have been waiting decades to hear.

The Supporting Cast Is Shaping Up Nicely

While plot details for Man of Tomorrow remain tightly under wraps, what we do know is tantalising. Green Lantern John Stewart is confirmed to appear, and rumours of a Wonder Woman cameo are already swirling — fuelling speculation that the film could lay the groundwork for a live-action Justice League that actually does the source material justice. Production is currently underway in Atlanta, and with Gunn staying characteristically tight-lipped about the Justice League's future in the DCU, every snippet he drops feels like gold dust.

Even the Frozen Yogurt Is Going Galactic

It wouldn't be a proper summer blockbuster without some seriously extra brand partnerships, and DC Studios has delivered. American froyo chain Pinkberry has teamed up with DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures ahead of the Supergirl release, launching the Supergirl Galactic Lemonade Frozen Yogurt — tart frozen yogurt topped with strawberries, blueberry popping boba, and dusted with gold glitter — alongside a shimmering Supergirl Galactic Lemonade. Available in participating US stores until 23rd July 2026, there's even a sweepstakes offering fans the chance to win a private screening of the film. It's camp, it's cosmic, and frankly, it sounds delicious.
