The Anger Has Faded
It has been one of the most closely watched feuds in modern royal history, but according to sources close to the Prince and Princess of Wales, the bitterness that has defined William and Kate's relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have finally burned itself out — replaced by something arguably more final: indifference.
Just weeks after Harry and Meghan's return to the UK, royal insiders say the mood at the Wales household has shifted dramatically. William is no longer consumed by fury, and Catherine, who was described as having been 'deeply hurt' by years of public accusations and headlines, has quietly chosen to move on.
'The anger has gone. William spent years being furious. Catherine was deeply hurt. But you cannot stay angry forever. Eventually you stop fighting and simply stop caring.'
The shift, sources told Naughty But Nice via Rob Shuter, is less about forgiveness and more about emotional exhaustion giving way to clarity. 'Harry is no longer occupying the enormous amount of emotional space he once did,' one insider explained, noting that William 'has Catherine, his children, his work and his future.'
Catherine's Steadying Hand
Behind the scenes, it appears the Princess of Wales has played a quiet but significant role in guiding William through the turbulence. Sources cited by The Blast and Woman's Day Australia report that Catherine has been actively encouraging her husband to take a calmer, more measured approach — one that mirrors King Charles's notably conciliatory stance toward his younger son.

Her concern, according to insiders, is that William's lingering anger could drag the couple into what one source colourfully described as an 'ugly mess' — a distraction from the serious business of preparing for the throne.
'She says they can't get caught up in this ugly mess. They need to stay focused on protecting the Crown and remaining dignified representatives.'
It is a remarkably strategic posture for a woman who has every personal reason to feel wounded. Catherine is not playing peacekeeper — sources are clear on that — but she is, by all accounts, keeping her husband's eye on the bigger picture.
No Reunion on the Cards
Despite the emotional détente, those hoping for a reconciliation scene should temper their expectations. William and Harry remain out of direct contact, and Catherine and Meghan have not met since the Sussexes' return. Omid Scobie, a writer and Sussex ally who appears in the new documentary Harry & Meghan: The Return of the Prince, threw cold water on the idea that Catherine might serve as a bridge between the brothers.
'There's always this talk of Kate Middleton potentially being the peacekeeper, the one that could bring the two brothers together,' Scobie said. 'If I've learned anything over the years from covering them, it's that Kate has very little to do with that relationship between the brothers.'

Erin Hill, royal writer at People magazine, echoed that assessment, saying palace insiders have described Prince William and Catherine's approach to the Sussexes' return as decidedly old-school: 'Keep calm, carry on, do the job.' Harry and Meghan, she noted, are simply 'not a priority for them' right now.
A Princess Focused on What Matters
That future-facing focus is very much in evidence in Catherine's public work. Last week, she hosted an intimate tea party at Windsor Castle — a warm, personal gathering for participants of the National Three Peaks Challenge, a punishing outdoor endurance event she herself completed in June to raise funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, the hospital where she received cancer treatment in 2024.

'Behind every summit was a personal story of resilience, determination and hope,' she wrote on social media following the event. 'Recovery is rarely a journey we make alone, and of the importance of the people who walk alongside us along the way.'
It is a sentiment that, in the context of everything else swirling around the Royal Family right now, feels quietly pointed. Whatever is happening ten miles — or five thousand miles — away, the Princess of Wales appears to know exactly where her energy belongs.
