A Very Unexpected Ensemble

Katey Sagal is swapping Bundy family chaos for a rather different kind of family drama. The beloved actress — best known for playing the long-suffering Peg Bundy in Married... with Children — has signed on to star in an untitled comedy series coming to Apple TV+, joining an already stellar cast that includes Elizabeth Banks, Ted Danson, and Rob Delaney. With four names like that attached, this one is already shaping up to be unmissable.

What's the Show Actually About?

The new comedy — created by Liz Heldens and Matt Ward — centres on Heidi (played by Banks), a recently divorced woman determined to rebuild her life and give her kids a fresh start. But things take a gloriously unexpected turn when she finds herself wrangled into managing the romantic — and rather active — social life of her father's retirement community. It's a fish-out-of-water setup with plenty of potential for both heart and hilarity.

Sagal's Role Revealed

Sagal will play Mavis, the new girlfriend of Heidi's father — a character brought to life by the ever-charming Ted Danson. Meanwhile, Rob Delaney steps in as Mavis's perpetually single son, forcing Heidi into an unlikely partnership she almost certainly didn't see coming. It's a brilliantly tangled web of family, romance, and presumably a fair amount of awkward dinner conversations.

"Fresh off a messy divorce, Heidi sets out to secure a lively second act for herself and her kids. But when she stumbles into coordinating her father's retirement community sexcapades, Heidi is forced into an unlikely alliance with his girlfriend's perpetually single son."

Apple TV+ Continues Its Winning Streak

The untitled project adds further weight to Apple TV+'s increasingly impressive comedy slate. Available in over 100 countries across more than a billion screens — from iPhones and iPads to Samsung and Sony smart TVs, as well as PlayStation, Xbox, and Roku devices — the streamer has been quietly building one of the strongest rosters in the business. With Banks, Danson, Delaney, and now Sagal all on board, this one could be the comedy of 2026.
