A Family Day Out at Yankee Stadium
It is not often that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds let the public into their family life — but when they do, the internet pays attention. On 30th July, the couple took their four children to Yankee Stadium in New York City for the much-anticipated football match between Wrexham AFC and Liverpool FC, and Lively has now shared a heartfelt glimpse of the occasion via Instagram.
Reynolds, of course, has a deeply personal stake in Wrexham AFC, which he co-owns alongside actor and producer Rob McElhenney. Seeing his club face one of the world's most iconic sides on American soil was, by Lively's own account, a moment that felt almost impossible to believe.
"@wrexham_afc playing @liverpoolfc at @yankees Stadium… One of the most surreal moments of this wild and beautiful ride ⚽️♥️ thank you to all our friends, family and Wrexham loved ones who came out to cheer on this extraordinary team."
The carousel of photos included snaps of the couple hugging at the stadium, as well as a tender image of Lively embracing one of their daughters — a rare and refreshingly candid window into a family that guards its privacy fiercely. Lively also credited photographer and longtime friend Guy Aroch for capturing the day.
Four Kids, One Very Recognisable Family
The Reynolds-Lively brood made a full appearance at the stadium. The couple's four children — James, Inez, Betty, and Olin — were all in attendance, marking one of the more visible family outings in recent memory for a pair who have long kept their children out of the spotlight.

The couple, who married in September 2012 and are known for their commitment to co-parenting on their own terms, famously hold to a rule of not working on film projects simultaneously — ensuring one parent is always at home with the children. Given Reynolds's blockbuster schedule and Lively's own prominent film career, it is a discipline that clearly takes genuine effort to maintain.
For those keeping track of the celebrity family's ever-growing roster, the children range in age from their eldest daughter James, born in December 2014, through to youngest son Olin, born in February 2023 — whose name Reynolds confirmed publicly at the July 2024 premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine.
What Lively Wore — and Why It Sparked a Debate
Lively's outfit for the outing has attracted its own share of attention. The actress wore a light blue denim shirt layered over a black tank top, paired with black jeans, black heeled mules, and a zebra-print bag with red detailing. The look was finished with layered necklaces and — the detail that has divided opinion — a chain anklet complete with a ladybug charm, a distinctly millennial accessory that has prompted predictable debate online.

Reynolds, keeping things considerably more low-key, opted for khaki trousers and a red checked shirt.
Lively was most recently spotted at the World Cup final in New Jersey, where she turned out in blue and white to cheer on Argentina. It seems that when it comes to entertainment and sport, this family tends to show up — and look good doing it.
