There are Hollywood stars who take a holiday, and then there is Heather Graham — who turns a beach trip into an event. The actress, 56, has been sending fans into a spin this week after sharing a series of stunning photographs from a sun-drenched getaway to Positano on the Amalfi Coast, looking every inch the film star against a backdrop of crystal-clear Mediterranean water and famous pastel-coloured buildings.
Italian Dreaming
Graham, who has been filming the hotly anticipated new series of The White Lotus, clearly wasted no time rewarding herself with some well-earned downtime. She posed in a succession of string bikinis — a brown polka-dot halterneck, a chocolate brown number and a vibrant cobalt blue two-piece — switching between oversized sunglasses and a wide-brimmed straw hat as she strolled along the beach and took a dip in the ocean.
The trip was shared with her Italian director boyfriend, Michele Civetta, and Graham's caption left little doubt about her mood. She wrote: 'I love Positano and pasta Nerano! And @mcivetta.' Fans flooded the comments section in response, with tributes ranging from the heartfelt to the delightfully on-brand.
'You are timeless,' wrote one admirer, while another — clearly a fellow Austin Powers devotee — simply responded: 'Yeahhh baby!!'
More Than a Pretty Picture
It would be easy to put Graham's enviable appearance down to good genes and leave it there, but the actress has been refreshingly candid about the fact that looking and feeling this way at 56 involves genuine intention. Health, she has said, is now her absolute priority — ranked above even her Hollywood career.
'Career is important, but if you don't have your health, you don't have anything. I'm lucky to be alive and healthy. That's number one, over my career and over everything else,' she told Us Weekly.
Sleep, it turns out, is central to her routine. Graham has previously admitted to happily clocking up ten or eleven hours a night — a habit she acknowledges raises a few eyebrows.
'Sometimes people make fun of me. I can get 10 hours, sometimes 11. I love sleeping,' she has said. Given what the woman looks like, it is difficult to argue with the approach.
Baked Fries and Four Hours of Yoga
Her relationship with food has shifted significantly over the years, too. Graham has spoken openly about previously having 'unhealthy eating habits' — her words — which included skipping meals in favour of sweets. These days, she follows a more balanced approach, cutting back on refined sugar and white flour, while making room for meals she actually enjoys. Her go-to repertoire apparently includes baked sweet potato wedge fries and a kale salad with chopped raw Brussels sprouts and toasted almonds.
Exercise-wise, don't expect tales of punishing gym sessions. 'I'm obsessed with yoga,' Graham has said, adding that she would happily spend four hours a day on the mat during a retreat. Pilates features too, alongside what might be her most appealing fitness secret: going out dancing.
White Lotus Calls
The Positano break comes at an exciting moment professionally. Graham has joined the star-studded ensemble cast of The White Lotus series four, which is set in France, with Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez reported to be among the filming locations. She will appear alongside Helena Bonham Carter, Rosie Perez, Steve Coogan, Kumail Nanjiani and Vincent Cassel — quite the line-up.
For now, though, it is pasta and the Amalfi Coast. And frankly, on the evidence of this week's photographs, Heather Graham has absolutely earned it.
