She's Hollywood royalty, freshly single, and apparently not in the market for love — but Jennifer Lopez's nearest and dearest are already doing a bit of matchmaking behind the scenes.
The Bronx-born superstar, 55, stars opposite British actor Brett Goldstein in the new Netflix film Office Romance, and while J.Lo insists she's perfectly happy flying solo right now, insiders say the on-screen chemistry between her and the Ted Lasso favourite was impossible to ignore from the very first moment.
"It was instant chemistry from their first call about the project. She thinks he's incredibly charming, talented and just a really good guy," a source told Us Weekly.
Nothing Romantic — For Now
Before the rumour mill goes into overdrive, those in the know are keen to stress that things haven't crossed a professional line. The same insider made clear there is "nothing romantic going on between them besides flirtation" — but that hasn't stopped Jennifer's friends from quietly nudging her in Goldstein's direction.
"Jen's friends joke with her that she should give him a chance because they think he'd be a great match for her," the source confirmed. "She and Brett have great chemistry, and that made working together on set easy and enjoyable."

For his part, Brett Goldstein — best known to UK audiences as the gruff but big-hearted Roy Kent in Apple TV+'s beloved Ted Lasso — has built a devoted fanbase on both sides of the Atlantic. The South London-raised actor and writer has long been considered one of Hollywood's most charming imports, so it's little wonder Lopez's inner circle are singing his praises.
J.Lo's Enjoying Single Life — And Not Apologising For It
Despite the friendly matchmaking attempts, Jennifer appears to be in no rush to rush into anything new. Following her high-profile divorce from Ben Affleck, which was finalised last year after the couple rekindled their romance only to part ways again, she has spoken openly about taking time for herself.
"J. Lo is in a really good place right now and has pretty much sworn off dating for the time being," the insider shared. "She is usually in a relationship, so she's genuinely enjoying this time being single and focusing on herself."
It's a refreshing change of pace for a woman whose love life has rarely been out of the headlines. From Marc Anthony to Affleck — twice — Lopez has never exactly been shy about commitment. But sources suggest this solo chapter is one she's genuinely embracing rather than merely enduring.
Open to Office Romance — Just Not Her Own
Fittingly, Lopez herself has said she hasn't ruled out finding love in the workplace in future — even if past attempts haven't always worked out. Speaking around the film's release, she made clear that she remains open to the idea in principle, even if she's not actively on the lookout.

Office Romance is available to stream on Netflix now, so British viewers can judge the on-screen chemistry for themselves. Whether any real-life sparks follow is, for the moment at least, entirely up to J.Lo — not her well-meaning friends.
