A tale of two weddings

Dua Lipa and Callum Turner have done it their way — and that apparently means doing it twice. The couple, 30 and 36 respectively, quietly tied the knot at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London at the weekend, surrounded by just eight guests including Dua's parents Dukagjin and Anesa, and her siblings Rina and Gjin. The bride looked every inch the style icon in a custom ivory skirt suit by Schiaparelli, complete with a nude lace bodice, while Turner cut a dashing figure in a double-breasted navy Ferragamo suit. The pair then slipped away for a private dinner with their nearest and dearest — chic, simple, and utterly low-key.

Sicily, squares, and NDAs

But anyone who thought that was the full story clearly doesn't know Dua Lipa. A three-day celebration in Palermo, Sicily is now firmly on the horizon, with reports suggesting the couple are effectively shutting down parts of the city for the occasion. Their wedding planner has reportedly been handing out NDAs to local residents, while barriers are going up around pedestrian squares including Piazza Sant'Anna and Piazza dei Vespri. A source told The Sun: 'It's all very, very off limits. It's top secret. The security is private but the local police are involved with the organisation of the event.'

A fairytale venue with a colourful past

The main ceremony is set to take place at Villa Valguarnera, a stunning 17th or 18th-century palace in Bagheria — a venue perhaps best known to TV fans from the opening credits of The White Lotus. The estate has a rather colourful history, having once been occupied by Cosa Nostra bosses in the 1980s before being reclaimed by its owner, Italian princess Vittoria Alliata di Villafranca. Palermo mayor Roberto Lagalla is reportedly set to officiate proceedings, and Bagheria's own mayor Filippo Tripoli has praised the couple's choice of location, saying: 'Bagheria is bouncing back after years in which it was known for mafia and violence, and Dua Lipa helps that process by putting it on the map for a different reason.'

Star-studded guest list — and a Shropshire surprise

Around 300 guests are expected to descend on Sicily, with the rumoured line-up including Sir Elton John — who is said to be performing — alongside Charli XCX, Olivia Dean, Mark Ronson and Donatella Versace, who is reportedly designing Dua's second wedding dress. Pre-celebrations will reportedly kick off with drinks at the Palazzo Gangi, with guests also being hosted at the Galleria d'Arte Moderna and the luxurious Villa Igiea, a Rocco Forte Hotel overlooking the sea. Back in London, meanwhile, the couple's intimate ceremony has already delivered one charming moment — staff at Shropshire Petals, a small confetti company based near Newport, were left overjoyed after spotting that Dua had used their dried petal mix, called Wonderland, as she left the town hall. Marketing executive Alannah Evitts said the team was 'blown away' that 'an international superstar has used our petals grown here on our Shropshire farm.'
