She had us all fooled with a few strategically placed billboards — but honestly, would we expect anything less? Taylor Swift has officially confirmed she has written and recorded a brand-new original song, I Knew It, I Knew You, for Disney and Pixar's highly anticipated Toy Story 5, and Swifties everywhere are absolutely losing their minds over it.

The Song That's Been Years In The Making
Written and produced alongside her trusted collaborator Jack Antonoff, I Knew It, I Knew You drops on 5 June — a full fortnight before the film hits UK cinemas on 19 June. The track, inspired by fan-favourite cowgirl Jessie, also marks a glorious return to Swift's country roots, blending the styles that have defined her record-breaking career. Swift, a self-confessed lifelong Toy Story devotee, says the song practically wrote itself after she attended an early screening of the film.
Swift's Adorable Instagram Reveal
In classic Taylor fashion, the announcement came via a Toy Story-themed countdown clock on her official website, which had fans in a frenzy for days before the big reveal. Confirming the news on Instagram, Swift wrote: "It's a *Toy* Story 🤠 You knew it! I've always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I've adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie. I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?" We love an artist who does their homework.

The Billboard Clues That Broke The Internet
The rumour mill went into overdrive last week when mysterious billboards bearing the initials "TS" — cheekily rendered in the blocky yellow Toy Story font — began appearing across major cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Toronto, Mexico City and London. Fans were quick to clock the double meaning, with "TS" standing for both Toy Story and, naturally, Taylor Swift. It's the kind of playful marketing that only the most devoted fandom could crack — and crack it they did.
"The song is so deeply connected to Toy Story. So much so that on first listen, it instantly felt like it had always belonged there, like a long-lost family member. It was kismet." — Andrew Stanton, Toy Story 5 director
What To Expect From The Single — And The Film
Fans can pre-order the single now on Swift's website in three exclusive CD editions: the original version as it appears in the film, a special acoustic version, and a piano version — each featuring unique vocals and production. The full song will also feature on the Toy Story 5 soundtrack, releasing alongside the film on 19 June. As for the movie itself, Woody, Buzz and the gang face their most modern challenge yet — a sleek tablet device called Lilypad that threatens to steal Bonnie's affections. It's the first new music from Swift since her record-breaking album The Life of a Showgirl, released in October 2025.
