The Clues That Have Everyone Talking
Could Taylor Swift be heading to the world of Woody and Buzz? That's the question on every Swiftie's lips this week after a series of mysterious promotional billboards for Toy Story 5 sent the internet into an absolute frenzy. The giant signs feature the letters "TS" — which, as any self-respecting Taylor fan will immediately clock, are also the pop superstar's initials. Coincidence? Perhaps. But then there are the 13 clouds surrounding those letters, and 13 just so happens to be Swift's famously lucky number. Suddenly this all feels a little too deliberate to dismiss.
Pixar's Very Cheeky Instagram Post
If the billboards alone weren't enough to set pulses racing, Pixar's official Instagram account then poured petrol on the fire. On Saturday 30 May, they shared a video of cowgirl Jessie — voiced by Joan Cusack — dancing on one of the mysterious signs, captioning it with the words: "She's making those moves up as she goes!" For those not fluent in Swift-speak, that's a lyric lifted directly from Taylor's 2014 banger Shake It Off. At this point, Pixar are practically winking at us through the screen.

So What Could Taylor's Role Actually Be?
Nothing has been officially confirmed yet — representatives for Swift have so far stayed tight-lipped — but speculation is running wild. The 14-time Grammy winner could be contributing a brand new track to the film's soundtrack, or perhaps lending her voice to an entirely new character. Given that her 2025 album is titled The Life of a Showgirl, fans are already dreaming up a sparkly showgirl character tailor-made for Swift's theatrical flair. Either way, it would be a massive get for Pixar.
A Star-Studded Cast and a Very Surprising Red Carpet Return
Whatever Swift's involvement turns out to be, Toy Story 5 is already shaping up to be one of the biggest films of the summer. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack all reprise their beloved roles, joined by newcomers Greta Lee, Alan Cumming, Conan O'Brien, and musician Bad Bunny. The cast recently gathered for the London premiere — an event that also marked a remarkable milestone for Cusack, who made her first red carpet appearance in 11 years. The 63-year-old actress, who has voiced Jessie since Toy Story 2 in 1999, stepped back from Hollywood around 2015 and has since been running a gift shop in Chicago. Toy Story 5 hits cinemas on 19 June.
