There's no shortage of sunshine — or affection — on Katy Perry's European summer. The pop star and her boyfriend, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, were spotted this week enjoying a boat trip in the South of France with a group of friends, where the pair were photographed applying sunscreen to each other in a thoroughly hands-on display.
Perry, who has been touring across Europe this summer, appeared relaxed and cheerful during the outing, lifting her dress so Trudeau could apply SPF across her chest. It was the kind of moment that might make a publicist wince and everyone else smile — easy, unguarded, and very much in love.

Dedicated to My Boyfriend
The South of France trip comes hot on the heels of Perry headlining Malta's Isle of MTV festival earlier this month, where she made a point of acknowledging Trudeau in the crowd before performing her track I'm His, He's Mine.
"I love when he comes to my shows, it always makes me so happy," Perry told the crowd, dedicating the song to Trudeau before launching into the set.
It's a relationship Perry has been openly enthusiastic about since the pair went public last summer. She has previously called Trudeau the 'love of my life', and their summer together — spanning Coachella, red carpet appearances, and now a sun-drenched European jaunt — has done little to dampen that energy.
Meanwhile, Across the Mediterranean…
Adding an almost sitcom-worthy layer of timing to proceedings, Perry's former partner Orlando Bloom was photographed this week snorkelling off Sardinia's Costa Smeralda with Swiss model Luisa Laemmel. The pair had also been pictured swimming together at Alpemare Beach in Forte dei Marmi, Italy, just days earlier.

Perry and Bloom, who were together for nine years, appear to have moved firmly into parallel chapters — both seemingly content, both very much making the most of the Mediterranean summer. Whether the overlapping holiday snaps were coincidental or cosmically well-timed rather depends on your appetite for drama. Either way, both look like they're doing just fine.
New Music on the Horizon
Beyond the holiday pictures, there's professional news gathering pace too. Sources told The Sun this month that Perry has nearly completed work on her eighth studio album — and that the music draws heavily on her personal journey, including moving on from her long-term relationship with Bloom and finding love again with Trudeau.
"The music has been inspired by moving on from long-term partner Orlando Bloom and finding love again," a source told The Sun.
For Perry fans who have been waiting patiently, it sounds as though the wait won't be much longer — and if this summer is anything to go by, the album will have no shortage of material to work with.
